In Paris, Vincent often bought canvases from Tasset et Lhôte, a small art supply shop also used by artists such as Paul Signac, Alfred Sisley and Edgar Degas. Vincent especially liked the shop’s prepared canvases and continued to order them after moving to Arles. He also bought paint. He conveyed his orders in letters to Theo, who placed them. Vincent’s other main supplier at the time was Julien “Père” Tanguy.
